Westin has his own shelf in the pantry. I put all his food and snacks on the bottom shelf so when he is hungry he can go grab what he wants. It doesn't always work like that, but it does get him more interested in eating more and letting me know he is hungry. He also likes to play in the pantry and stack stuff.

That is a great idea and I love that you are already teaching him to be independent! These are good skills to build with him and it will make your life easier too!
